Join us in Celebrating God's creation!
Creation Care Week takes place once a year at Point Loma. It's a week of celebration, learning and fellowship, all in the name of this beautiful earth we get to call home!
Environmental student leaders explain what Creation Care Week is and how everyone can contribute to its goal.
Dr. Michael Lodahl, Professor of Theology, emphasizes our vital task of stewardship in God's Kingdom.
This year’s theme was ‘Created to Connect’ in which we explored how we can form the first step towards environmental care and conservation through interactive sessions, workshops, and discussions that helped students gain a profound understanding of the environmental crises we face today.
Design students are given resources to express their feelings toward creation care through creative design. Using different media to show their concerns, encouragement, and hopes for the Earth, students definitely enjoy this aspect of the week!
Others visit the ocean beach farmer's market: a great opportunity to learn about local farmers and vendors! Many don't realize that shopping locally is one of the best ways to live a sustainable lifestyle. Using a shuttle to decrease our carbon footprint, this event is sustainable, fun and educational!
Throughout the week, caf lane is covered in educational displays, encouraging students to learn about how they can better care for their campus and the greater earth around us. Some topics covered in the 2022 displays were composting, climate change, and secondhand shopping.
Creation Care Week says it all. It's vital to remember that God the Creator uniquely crafted the beautiful spaces we experience. Throughout the week, students celebrate Him through prayer, creative expression, and various other avenues.
